Elizabeth's primary studio is in the mist-belt forest of Byrne Valley, above the historical village of Byrne, in the Kwazulu-Natal Midlands.

Most works begin as clay, a medium which is technically difficult to work but which allows for beautiful organic textures in the final bronze work.

After each session the clay work-in -progress must be covered and kept damp

Clay originals destined for bronze are supported by an internal steel armature, but ceramic pieces to be fired are armature-free (the clay will crack in the kiln as the metal expands).
